West Ham Signs Paqueta on a Five Year Contract

West Ham has signed Brazilian midfielder Lucas Paqueta on a five year contract. Paquteta, who is expected to be part of the Brazil squad at this year's World Cup, joined from Lyon. The initial £36.5m deal for the player could rise to more than £50m with potential add-ons. He joined Lyon for £17m in 2020 after 18 months at AC Milan.

Floods Submerge One-third of Pakistan

Pakistan’s Climate Ministry has revealed that one-third of the country has been completely submerged by historic flooding. The country’s Climate Minister, Sherry Rehman, noted that devastating flash floods have washed away roads, homes and crops. According to officials, at least 1,136 people have died since the monsoon season began in June. Officials estimate that more than 33 million Pakistanis one in seven people have been affected by the historic flooding.
