Alec Baldwin's Western movie ‘Rust’ has resumed 18 months after the fatal on-set shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. Baldwin, who has pleaded not guilty to two counts of involuntary manslaughter, is remaining in the starring role. Principal photography is starting up again at a new location in Montana.
President Muhammadu Buhari has felicitated Nollywood actor, Bob-Manuel Udokwu on his 60th birthday. Buhari made this known in a congratulatory message signed by his media aide, Femi Adesina. Jazz pianist, composer and band leader Ahmad Jamal has died aged 92. According to his daughter, Sumayah Jamal, revealed that the cause was prostate cancer. Jamal was known for a sparse playing style often placing silence between notes.

Fashion designer Mary Quant has died aged 93. A statement issued by her family said she died peacefully at home in Surrey, UK this morning. Quant was credited with popularising the mini-skirts that helped define the Swinging 60s.
A known associate of the now-imprisoned internet fraudster, Hushpuppi, Olalekan Ponle, known as Woodberry, has pleaded guilty to wire fraud. Ponle agreed to forfeit $8 million in proceeds of wire fraud as well as luxury cars and watches to the foreign government. According to his plea agreement, he is required to pay back the sum of $8 million he fraudulently received from the seven companies that he scammed.
Renowned American cartoonist Al Jaffee, has died at the age of 102. Jaffee, who set a World Record for his 77-year career, died in hospital of multi-system organ failure. His famous fans include; Peanuts creator Charles Schulz and his work was referenced in The Simpsons.

Hollywood actor Hugh Jackman has announced that his recent skin cancer tests are all clear. Jackman had his first skin cancer removed in 2013, and has since had at least six procedures. The Wolverine star this week revealed he had undergone tests after a recent medical check-up.
