Imo residents have expressed their thoughts over Peter Obi’s resignation from presidential race. In an interview with Boss Radio News, Innoncent Okechukwu, a business man, said he supports Obi’s resignation. Chris Okeke, a Civil Engineer had this to say. Recall that the former governor of Anambra state dumped the People’s Democratic Party, on Wednesday.
The member representing Okigwe North in the Federal House of Representatives, Miriam Onuoha, has assured people of the zone of more constituency project. Onuoha made this known while speaking to newsmen yesterday in Owerri. She urged the constituents to be patient and promised to extend the empowerment programmme. The reps member also thanked the people of Okigwe north for appointing her as the party consensus candidate for the forthcoming election.
The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has expressed disappointment over the manner politicians monetized the nation’s electoral process. INEC Chairman, Mahmood Yakubu, raised the concerns during a one-day colloquium, held in Abuja. Yakubu stated that the increasing insecurity across the country, and the menace of fake news had become matters of concern to the Commission. He, however, assured stakeholders that INEC would work with anti-graft agencies to reverse the trend.
Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi, has announced the appointment of 14 new permanent secretaries, two general managers, and six executive secretaries. A statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Yinka Oyebode, revealed that the appointments came after the officials scaled examinations in ICT, Civil Service Procedures, and General Knowledge. The statement added that the step was aimed at strengthening the leadership of the State Civil Service for greater service delivery.
Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has emerged winner of the governorship primary of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP. Makinde polled a total of 1,040 votes to defeat his rival, Hazeem Gbolarunmi who had two votes. A total of six votes were void out of the total votes of 1,048.
The Accountant General of Rivers State, Fubara Siminialayi, has emerged as the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP. Siminialayi polled 721 votes to defeat his two closest rivals, Isaac Kamaku and George Kelly. Sixteen aspirants had contested for the party’s ticket after series of stakeholders’ meetings and consultations.
Imo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has postponed its House of Representatives and state House of Assembly primaries. The immediate past national officer of the party, Henry Ekpe, revealed that the exercise was postponed due to insecurity. Ekpe added that the primaries would not take place on Thursday at the same venue.
Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Fintri has won the People’s Democratic Party governorship primaries in the state. According to reports, Fintri won with a total of 663 of the 668 votes, with five of the votes declared void. The report appreciated delegates, Party Leaders and Elders for the success of the Primaries.
