Makinde wins Oyo Governorship Primaries

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has been declared winner of the People’s Democratic Party’s governorship primary election in the state. The Returning Officer, Abdulahi Maibasira, declared Makinde winner of the contest having scored the highest number of valid votes cast. According to Maibasira, the Governor polled 1,040 votes to defeat his rival, Hazeem Gbolarumi, who had two votes.

Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has kicked against marginalization of women in the Political space. Speaking at a workshop for Gender Desk Officers across the 36 States and the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, in Lagos State, INEC National Commissioner, Kunle Ajayi, regretted that women were only being used for Political rallies. Ajayi noted that the active participation of women in Politics would strengthen the Nation’s democratic process.

Bello Appoints New Permanent Secretaries

Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello has approved the appointment of 10 new Permanent Secretaries. This was disclosed in a statement issued by the State Head of Service, Hannah Odiyoon.
