Zamfara Governor Okays Death Penalty for Bandits

Zamfara State Governor, Bello Matawalle, has given approval for death penalty for bandits, kidnappers, among several others. Matawalle signed the law on Tuesday in Gusau, the State Capital after the State House of Assembly recommended the death penalty for criminal elements. The Governor maintained that the law will serve as an instrument to prosecute offenders of the crimes in the State.

Police arrests suspected killer of Gulak

Imo State Police Command has arrested one of the suspected killers of a Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Ahmed Gulak. The Command’s Public Relations Officer, Mike Abattam, who disclosed this on Monday, identified the arrested suspected as Anosike Chimobi. Gulak, a former aide to former President Goodluck Jonathan, was murdered by a group of armed men on May 30, 2021, during a visit to the State.

Yobe Government Announces Work Free Days for Workers

Yobe State Government has declared three work-free days to enable Civil Servants participate in the Continuous Voters’ Registration exercise, CVR. The declaration was contained in a circular signed by the State Head of Service, Bilal Garba. The circular declared that from 29th June to 1st July, 2022 are work free days. It tasked all essential service providers in the State to remain at alert.
