Manchester United defender, Lisandro Martinez, has successfully undergone surgery after being ruled out for the season due to a fractured metatarsal bone. Martinez, who made 45 appearances for United, was carried off the pitch during their 2-2 draw with Sevilla in the Europa League. His injury comes with United looking to cement third place in the Premier League and capture the Europa League and FA Cup titles.
President Muhammadu Buhari has felicitated Nollywood actor, Bob-Manuel Udokwu on his 60th birthday. Buhari made this known in a congratulatory message signed by his media aide, Femi Adesina. The message noted that Udokwu's experience in the creative and entertainment industry will always be relevant, especially in mentoring younger people in career choices. It prayed for the well-being of the award-winning actor  and his family.
The Nigerian Railway Corporation generated N715.09 million in revenue from passengers in Q3 of 2022. According to the National Bureau of Statistics, the figure dropped by 60.52 per cent compared to the N1.81 billion received in Q3 of 2021. Similarly, it showed that N101.84 million was collected in Q3 2022 as revenue from goods/ cargos, this dropped by 7.04 per cent from N109.56 million received in Q3 2021.
Tunisian police have detained opposition leader Rached Ghannouchi. According to his party officials, Police raided Ghannouchi’s house on Monday evening, carrying out a search before taking him to an unknown destination. Ghannouchi has already faced repeated rounds of judicial questioning over the past year on charges relating to Ennahda’s finances and allegations it enabled Tunisians to leave the North African country and join ISIL.
