Kwara Police Arrests Suspect Over Death of Parent

Kwara State Police Command has arrested a suspect identified as Ibrahim Hassan for the alleged murder of his father. The Command’s Spokesperson, Okasanmi Ajayi, who confirmed the arrest, said the suspect allegedly administered paracetamol injection mixed with other substances to his father and strangulated him to death. Ajayi noted that during investigation, the suspect confessed to the crime and would soon be charged to court.

Nigeria Gets $700million as World Bank Disburses $31.7billion

The World Bank says it has disbursed $31.7billion as climate financing in its 2022 fiscal year. According to the Bank, lending for climate-related investments reached 36 per cent or $31.7billion, exceeding its new climate finance target of 35 per cent as outlined in the 2021-2025 World Bank Group Climate Change Action Plan. It added that Nigeria got $700million from $31.7billion it disbursed for an Agro-Climatic Resilience.
