Train accident in DRC claim lives

At least seven people died when a goods train derailed in the southeast Democratic Republic of the Congo. The accident occurred in the village of Buyofwe, Lualaba province. Lualaba Interior Minister, Deoda Kapenda said seven people died and 14 were seriously injured in the latest accident. Kapenda revealed that the toll could rise because a large number of clandestine passengers were trapped under the upturned wagons.

Wike advises Judges to be courageous

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has reiterated the need for the nation’s judicial officers to remain courageous in dispensing justice. Wike disclosed this in a statement signed by his media aide, Kelvin Ebiri. The statement stressed that it is expected of judicial officers to do what they consider fitting in any circumstance. NCDC records 701 cases of cholera

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has recorded 701 suspected cases of cholera and 19 deaths in 2022. This was contained in a report made available to newsmen yesterday. According to the report, it is monitoring the epidemiological trends to guide the requests for planned vaccination campaigns for cholera. It added that the National Rapid Response Team was deployed to support the ongoing outbreak response in Taraba State.
