ASUU to sanction erring lecturers

The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, has threatened to sanction the lecturers who have continued to attend to the academic needs despite the ongoing industrial action. National President of the union, Emmanuel Osodeke, disclosed this to newsmen in Abuja. Recall that ASUU had on February 14, 2022 announced a four-week total and comprehensive warning strike following the inability of the union and the Federal Government to reach an agreement.

Federal government urges alcohol manufacturers to consider public health

The Federal Government has called on manufacturers of alcoholic beverages to promote the principles of public health. Minister of Health, Osagie Ehanire, made the call at a Roundtable in Lagos state. Ehanire, stated that the Federal Ministry of Health is committed to promoting the health and wellbeing of Nigerians. The Minister noted that Responsible Beverage Services initiatives would help reduce alcohol consumption in under-age persons and pregnant women.
