European Union donates security Hardware’s to ECOWAS

The European Union has donated security hardwares, to the Economic Community of West African States, ECOWAS, to tackle maritime crime and other security challenges in the sub-region.
This was disclosed by the Head of ECOWAS’ Regional Security Division, Abdourahmane Dieng during a maritime security seminar in Abuja.
Diego noted that maritime insecurity had become one of the persistent and intractable threats to the economic prosperity of West Africa.
According to him, turning the tide against maritime insecurity was a collaborative effort that no single country or region could tackle alone.
