European Union donates security Hardware’s to ECOWAS

The European Union has donated security hardwares, to the Economic Community of West African States, ECOWAS, to tackle maritime crime and other security challenges in the sub-region.

This was disclosed by the Head of ECOWAS’ Regional Security Division, Abdourahmane Dieng during a maritime security seminar in Abuja.

Diego noted that maritime insecurity had become one of the persistent and intractable threats to the economic prosperity of West Africa.

According to him, turning the tide against maritime insecurity was a collaborative effort that no single country or region could tackle alone.

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has reiterated the need for the nation’s judicial officers to remain courageous in dispensing justice. Wike disclosed this in a statement signed by his media aide, Kelvin Ebiri. The statement stressed that it is expected of judicial officers to do what they consider fitting in any circumstance.
