Floods Submerge One-third of Pakistan

Pakistan’s Climate Ministry has revealed that one-third of the country has been completely submerged by historic flooding. The country’s Climate Minister, Sherry Rehman, noted that devastating flash floods have washed away roads, homes and crops. Pakistan government has declared a National emergency over devastating flood as monsoon rains continue to lash the Nation. According to the Country’s National Disaster Management Authority, at least 937 people have died since mid-June, including 343 children, adding that more than 30 million are without shelter. Germany Signs Deal to Repatriate Benin Bronzes to Nigeria

Germany has signed an agreement to transfer ownership to Nigeria of the Benin Bronzes looted in the 19th century. According to reports, the signing was done on Thursday between the Foundation of Prussian Cultural Heritage and Nigeria’s National Commission for Museums and Monuments. Recall that the British Soldiers took hundreds of bronzes when they invaded the Kingdom of Benin in 1897.
