At least 15 people have been killed after torrential rains and landslides hit Indonesia’s Natuna region. The Natuna Search and Rescue Agency’s head, Abdul Rahman, revealed that 15 people had been confirmed dead and 50 were missing. Rossington Dies at 71

The last remaining original member of US rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd, Gary Rossington, has died at the age of 71. Rossington appeared on all of their albums and co-wrote the 1974 hit ‘Sweet Home Alabama’. He was also one of the survivors of a 1977 plane crash that killed several of his bandmates.

Belarus Opposition Leader Bags Jail Sentence

A Belarus court has sentenced the country's main opposition leader, Svetlana Tikhanovskaya to 15 years' jail in absentia. Tikhanovskaya fled the country in 2020 after running against authoritarian leader, Alexander Lukashenko in presidential elections. The charges against her include high treason and conspiracy to seize power. The opposition leader, however, rejected the court's legitimacy.

Court Grants Reps Majority Leader Bail

A Federal High Court has granted bail to House of Representatives Majority Leader, Alhassan Doguwa, who is accused of the alleged killing of some persons on election day. The presiding Judge, Muhammad Yunusa , granted Doguwa bail on Monday. He was detained by the police last week and subsequently arraigned before Chief Magistrate Ibrahim Mansur on six count charges including culpable homicide, causing grievous hurt, mischief by firearm and inciting disturbances.
