The National Judicial Council, NJC, has issued policy directions on election-related cases to heads of courts. Chief Justice of Nigeria, Tanko Muhammad, revealed that the decision was part of efforts to eliminate incidences of issuance of conflicting orders capable of disrupting the ongoing electioneering. Muhammed noted that under the new direction, heads of courts will be held responsible for loopholes in their areas of jurisdictions.

Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma has directed political appointees vying for elective positions in 2023 to resign before May 16. Uzodimma gave the directive at the expanded State Exco meeting on Wednesday. He directed such appointees to tender their resignation letters on or before the said date.
