Jonathan joins advisory board of European Corporate Council of Africa and the Middle East

Former President Goodluck Jonathan has been appointed as a member of the International Advisory Board of the European Corporate Council on Africa and the Middle East, ECAM Council.
A statement issued by his special adviser, Ikechukwu Eze, stated that Jonathan will be attending this year’s ECAM Council’s high-level advisory board meeting in Italy on 30th May.
The former President becomes the first African sub-Saharan African leader to be appointed into the ECAM council.
The Council is a non-profit organization established with the purpose of promoting and developing relations between the countries of Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and the North Africa region.

Nigerian Judicial Council issues policy directions on election cases

The National Judicial Council, NJC, has issued policy directions on election-related cases to heads of courts. Chief Justice of Nigeria, Tanko Muhammad, revealed that the decision was part of efforts to eliminate incidences of issuance of conflicting orders capable of disrupting the ongoing electioneering. Muhammed noted that under the new direction, heads of courts will be held responsible for loopholes in their areas of jurisdictions.
