Civil Society Organizations urge National Assembly to terminate Emefiele’s appointment

A coalition of Civil Society Organizations, have called on the National Assembly to commence the process of terminating the appointment of the Governor of the Central Bank, Godwin Emefiele.
A statement jointly issued by the CSOs stated that Emefiele’s political ambition hinders the independent decision-making his role requires.
The statement urged him to resign immediately to pursue his partisan interests or the National Assembly should commence the process to terminate his appointment.
