Yarmolenko is one of West Ham's highest earners, and manager David Moyes has made the decision to let him leave at the end of his deal. He has made 30 appearances for West Ham this season, scoring three goals and has won 106 caps for Ukraine.
The official trailer for Disney’s original film on Giannis Antetokounmpo’s life, ‘Rise’ has been launched. The trailer offers a first- look into the title headed straight to streaming via Disneyplus on June 24. The film follows the lives of the Antetokounmpos, an immigrant family from Nigeria struggling to make a life for themselves in Greece amid daily threats of deportation.
The exchange rate between the naira and the US dollar closed at N418.27/$1 at the official Investors and Exporters window. This represents a fall of 0.12% from N418.25/$ recorded the previous day. Also, the exchange rate against the US dollar depreciated further on Thursday morning at the peer-to-peer market, trading at a minimum of N607.32/$1 compared to N602/$1 recorded as of the same time the previous day.
A Sri Lankan court has banned former Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa, and 15 allies from leaving the country. The magistrate ordered police to investigate mob attacks on peaceful protesters, which led to retaliations. Rajapaksa resigned and had to be evacuated from his home by heavily armed troops. The former leader is currently holed up at a naval facility in the east of the island nation, protected by the armed forces.
The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has said it will suspend the online pre-registration on continuous voter registration by May 30. President Muhammadu Buhari has appealed to the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, to end the ongoing strike. Buhari, who made the appeal at the 19th National Productivity Day Celebration in Abuja, implored ASUU to consider the situation of the students and call off the industrial action. He urged the National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS, to exercise patience as the government tries to resolve the crisis.
Cross River State Governor, Ben Ayade, has picked the expression of interest form to contest for Senate on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC. Ayade will be contesting for the northern senatorial district in his state. He assured that he would tackle the problem of poor electricity supply head-on, adding that he was ready to deploy a workable solution to fix the problem once and for all.
Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini has confirmed he will leave Juventus at the end of the season after 17 years. Chiellini has won nine Serie A titles, as well as the Coppa Italia five times, since joining the club from Fiorentina in 2005. He won his first Scudetto in 2011-12, going on to win nine in a row with the club before Inter's triumph last season.
