The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has said it will suspend the online pre-registration on continuous voter registration by May 30.
A statement issued by the Commission’s Public Affairs Officer, Geraldine Ekelemu, stated that the online pre-registration will be suspended while the entire registration exercise will end on June 30.
The statement noted that this to enable those that registered online to complete the physical registration.
It urged those who are yet to register to do so before the closing date.
President Muhammadu Buhari has appealed to the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, to end the ongoing strike. Buhari, who made the appeal at the 19th National Productivity Day Celebration in Abuja, implored ASUU to consider the situation of the students and call off the industrial action. He urged the National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS, to exercise patience as the government tries to resolve the crisis.
