At least 143 Nigerians stranded in Libya have been received by the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, in Lagos state. President Muhammadu Buhari has given the minister of education, Adamu Adamu, two weeks to resolve issues of contention regarding the lingering strike of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU. Buhari gave the directive at a meeting with the minister and other relevant agencies. The President urged Adamu to ensure that the issues were resolved within two weeks and report back to him.

Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, has pardoned 90 inmates as part of activities to mark the Sallah celebration. Ganduje effects their release during his visit to Gorondutse Correctional Centre in the State. According to him, the release is in compliance with President Muhammadu Buhari’s urge for decongestion of the Correctional Centres. The Governor assured that he would continue with the good work to 2023 when his administration ends.
