A small plane with 22 people on board flying on a popular tourist route is declared missing in Nepal. This was disclosed by the Tara Air Spokesman, Sudarshan Bartaula on Sunday. According to Bartaula, the flight lost contact with the airport tower shortly after takeoff. Meanwhile, the Home Affairs Ministry’s Spokesman, Phanindra Pokharel, disclosed that two helicopters were deployed for a search operation but added that visibility was low.

A Popular Priest, Hyacinth Alia emerged as the Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Benue State. Alia won 12 out of the 23 Local Government Areas of the State with a total of 464,391 votes. Recalled that Alia was suspended by the Bishop of Gkoko Catholic Diocese for engaging in partisan Politics.
Ondo State First Lady, Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, has withdrawn from the Senatorial race of the All Progressives Congress for Imo East in Imo State. A statement issued on Sunday by Anyanwu-Akeredolu noted that intimidations on her are reasons for the withdrawal. The statement, however, appreciated Ada Owere Team and Supporters who stood by her during the Campaign Period.
The Apex Igbo Socio-Political Organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, has said the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, will never become Nigeria’s President. Ohanaeze Secretary-General, Okechukwu Isiguzoro, made the remark while denouncing the PDP Presidential Primary that produced Atiku as the Party’s Flag bearer. Isiguzoro stressed that the Igbo would rise against PDP and Atiku, adding that his Presidential campaign would be rejected in the South-East.
Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar emerged the Flag bearer of the People’s Democratic Party for the 2023 Presidential election. Atiku polled 371 votes to defeat his closest rival, Nyeson Wike who polled 237 votes. The former Vice President pledged to unify the Country following his victory in the Party’s Primary poll.

Sri Lanka’s Prime Minister, Ranil Wickremesinghe has been appointed as Finance Minister of the Country. This was disclosed in statement issued from the President’s office on Wednesday. The statement noted that Wickremesinghe will lead talks with the International Monetary Fund, IMF, as the crisis-hit nation seeks a bailout.
