Barely 72 hours before the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Convention, the former governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi has resigned his membership of the party.
Prior to his resignation Obi was running to become the President of Nigeria on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP.

The statement noted that Wickremesinghe will lead talks with the International Monetary Fund, IMF, as the crisis-hit nation seeks a bailout.
