Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has reiterated the need for the nation’s judicial officers to remain courageous in dispensing justice. Wike disclosed this in a statement signed by his media aide, Kelvin Ebiri. The statement stressed that it is expected of judicial officers to do what they consider fitting in any circumstance. The Federal government has restated its efforts towards tackling insecurity in the country. Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, made this known to newsmen in Abuja. Mohammed noted that the federal government is fast-tracking the installation of some security gadgets on railway tracks to ensure adequate surveillance. The minister added that it has given the military the enabling environment to fight against terrorism and banditry.

Cross River State Governor, Bene Ayade has constituted a nine-member committee to verify retirees due for gratuities. National Coordinator of APGA Media Warriors Forum, Chinedu Obigwe, described those distracting the governor as cheap blackmailers. The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has assured that votes would count in the forth coming governorship elections in Ekiti and Osun states. INEC’s National Commissioner in charge of Information, Voter Education and Publicity, Festus Okoye, said preparations were on to deliver free, fair, transparent and inclusive elections in the states. Okoye stressed that the new Electoral Act 2022 would strengthen the commission to conduct a credible election.

Anambra State Governor Charles Soludo has said his administration is offering amnesty to agitators in the State. Soludo urged agitators to come out, and surrender their arms, assuring that proper training will be given to them in whatever skills.
