Enugu commissioner resigns over political ambition

Enugu State Commissioner for Environment and Mineral Resources, Chijioke Edeoga, has resigned from the State Executive Council. Edeoga, said his voluntary resignation was to enable him to pursue his political aspiration and also to align himself with the provisions of the newly amended Electoral Act, 2022. Honduras Swears in First Female President

Honduras has sworn in Xiomara Castro as the country’s first female president. Castro was sworn in on Thursday during a ceremony at a National Stadium in the Capital, Tegucigalpa. She was the leader of the left-wing Libre Party, and won the November 28 election by a healthy margin. Honduras faces high unemployment, persistent violence, corruption, as well as troubled healthcare and educational systems challenges.
