Lagos State Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Idris Salako has resigned. State Commissioner for Information, Gbenga Omotoso made the announcement in a statement issued on Monday. The statement noted that Salako’s resignation was a lead up to the restructuring of the Ministry and its Agencies. It thanked him for his services and wished him success in his future endeavors.

Zamfara State government says it has settled N25 million outstanding license fees to the National Broadcasting Commission, NBC, which accumulated since 2017. According to a statement issued by the State Commissioner for Information, Ibrahim Dosara, noted that the payment of the debt to the Commission was to avert shut down of the State media Organizations.

A state High Court sitting in Jos, Plateau State capital, has discharged and acquitted a former governor of the state, Jonah Jang, over corruption charges leveled against him. The Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide has cautioned Politicians in Enugu State and other South-East Region to stop engaging in malicious Political campaigns. A statement signed on Friday by the National President of the Oraganization, Okwu Nnabuike, noted that such development is unacceptable in the State. The statement stressed that campaigns should be issue-based.

The People’s Democratic Party, PDP has filed a suit against Govenor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq of Kwara State. The suit filed in a Federal High Court in Abuja by the Party’s Lawyer, Paul Erokoro, urged the Court to make an order directing the Independent National Electoral Commission to delist Abdulrazaq. According to the suit, the Party wants the Governor to be disqualified from the 2023 Governorship election over alleged certificate forgery.

Ebonyi State Governor, David Umahi, has inaugurated the newly-elected 13 Council Chairmen and the 171 Councilors in the State. Umahi, during the inauguration disclosed that the order granted by the State High Court empowered him to swear in the Council Chairmen. Recall that a Federal High Court had voided the said election that produced the 13 Local Government Chairmen that was conducted by the State Independent Electoral Commission.
