The People’s Democratic Party has berated the Federal government over the lingering strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities. A statement issued by the Party’s National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, lamented the failure of the All Progressives Congress government to end the industrial action. The statement accused the ruling Party of relishing the agony, pain and suffering of Parents and Students in Public Universities.

Sokoto State Governor, Waziri Tambuwal, has denied resigning from his position as Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party Governors Forum. The denial was contained in a statement signed by the Director General of the Forum, C. Maduabum, and made available to newsmen on Friday. The statement urged stakeholders of the Party and the public to disregard the purported reports of his resignation.

Former Senate President, Adolphus Wabara, has been appointed as the acting Chairman of the People’s Democratic Democratic Party Board of Trustees, BoT. Wabara was appointed during the Party’s 97th National Executive Council meeting on Thursday in Abuja. He, however, urged Party members to always control their emotions and ensure disagreements were addressed internally.

Kebbi State Governor, Atiku Bagudu, has approved the dissolution of the State Executive Council. A statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Babale Yauri, disclosed that the dissolution is with immediate effect from Wednesday September 7, 2022.
