Kwara Governor Appoints Attorney General

Kwara State Governor, Abdulrahman AbdulRazaq, has appointed a new Attorney-General of the state, Ibrahim Sulyman. A statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye, revealed that Sulyman who was the Commissioner for Tertiary Education was moved to the Ministry of Justice. The statement added that the Ministry of Tertiary Education would be overseen by the Permanent Secretary, pending the appointment of a new political head.

Uzodinma directs appointees with political ambition to resign

Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma has directed political appointees vying for elective positions in 2023 to resign before May 16. Uzodimma gave the directive at the expanded State Exco meeting on Wednesday. He directed such appointees to tender their resignation letters on or before the said date. This comes hours after President Muhammadu Buhari ordered Ministers seeking elective offices to resign on or before May 16.

EFCC arrests suspected internet fraudsters in Imo

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has arrested 36 suspected internet fraudsters. A statement issued by the Commission’s Head, Media and Publicity, Wilson Uwujaren, revealed that the suspects were arrested by operatives of the Enugu Zonal Command. The statement noted that the suspects were arrested in Owerri, Imo State, following credible intelligence. It added that the suspects would be charged to court after the investigation.

Akeredolu approves recruitment of personnel

Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu has approved the recruitment of 350 persons into the State Security Network Agency. Akeredolu made the announcement at an Award Programme organized by the State Agribusiness Empowerment Centre in Akure, the State Capital. He said the government would procure more operational vehicles and motorcycles to aid the operation of the Corps. The Governor noted that the recruitment became imperative as the Corps has been overstretched.
