Reports say a number of celebrities have tested positive for Covid-19, following appearances at the Golden Globes. Several stars, including Collin Farrell, Brendan Gleeson, Jamie Curtis and Michelle Pfeiffer announced they had contracted the virus in the days following the awards. The Critics Choice Awards, which aired on Sunday, required Covid-19 tests for attendees as the list of dropouts grew.
Actor Kevin Spacey has received a lifetime achievement award in Italy. The Museum of Cinema in Turin said it handed the prize in recognition of Spacey's personal aesthetic and authorial contribution to the development of the art of drama. His award comes days after he appeared in a UK court to face seven charges of sexual assault against a man in the early 2000s.
Russian actor, Artur Smolyaninov is now classified faces criminal investigation after speaking against his home country's invasion of Ukraine. The actor was the star of one of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s favorite films. He played the part of the last soldier standing during a battle in Afghanistan, which Soviet forces occupied for a decade.
Italian actress Gina Lollobrigida, has died at the age of 95. Lollobrigida’s films include Beat the Devil, the Hunchback of Notre Dame and Crossed Swords. She co-starred alongside the likes of Humphrey Bogart, Frank Sinatra, Rock Hudson and Errol Flynn. Her career faded in the 1960s and she moved into photography and politics.
Nigerian superstars, Burna Boy, Wizkid, and Davido, clinched awards at the prestigious All Africa Music Awards, AFRIMA. Burna Boy bagged the Best Act in Africa award at the eighth edition of the event, and the Best Album of Year award. While Wizkid bagged the Best Act in West Africa award, Davido clinched the Best Male Act in African Inspirational Music Award.
Rema's 'Calm Down' extended its stay at the top of the US Afrobeats chart to 19 weeks. The hit remix featuring Selena Gomez has enjoyed an interrupted run at the summit, spending almost half of its 42 weeks stay on the chart at the top. Tems' 'Free Mind', Burna Boy's 'Last Last', and Wizkid 'Essence' all dropped one spot respectively to 3rd, 4th, and 5th.
Nigerian Singer, Burna Boy is among the artists that will perform at the 2023 Coachella which is scheduled for April. Burna Boy is set to perform on April 14th and 21st as he will assist the global best-selling artist of 2022 Bad Bunny who will be headlining the dates. The Singer previously performed at the Coachella in 2020.

Nigerian singer Joeboy has revealed that he will be releasing his sophomore album in the first quarter of 2023. The singer revealed that up-and-coming artist Kemena, Award-winning DJ and Producer Diplo, and Afrobeats maestro Tekno are some of the guest artists on the album. In 2020, Joeboy released his debut album 'Somewhere between Beauty and Magic' which enjoyed critical acclaim.
