The National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, received at least 105 stranded Nigerians from Chad at the Kano International Airport. NEMA Coordinator, Kano Territorial Office, Nuradeen Abdullahi, received them on behalf of the agency. Abdullahi revealed that the returnees were made up of 24 male adults, 23 female adults and 58 children.

Court Dismisses Suit Against Taylor Swift

A lawsuit alleging that Taylor Swift stole lyrics for her hit song ‘Shake It Off’ has been dismissed by a judge. Songwriters Sean Hall and Nate Butler had claimed Swift lifted lyrics in her song's chorus from their own hit Playas Gon' Play. The case had been due to go to trial on 17 January.
