Nigerian Equities Extend Losing Streak

Nigerian equities has opened the week extending its losing streak for the fifth consecutive session as investors’ investment declined by N313 billion. The All Share Index decreased by 579.39 absolute points, representing a dip of 1.11 per cent to close at 51,400.53 points. Similarly, the market capitalization lost N313 billion to close at N27.718 trillion.

A court in London has granted wife of a former Deputy Senate President, Beatrice Ekweremadu bail. The presiding judge granted her bail, but her husband who is the lawmaker representing Enugu West Senatorial district, was denied bail. The Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, has disbursed N68.13billion to beneficiaries under its 100-for-100 Policy on Production and Productivity. CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele, disclosed this after the last Monetary Policy Committee meeting.
