Oluwatobiloba Amusan inspired Team Nigeria to first place in the women’s 4x100m relay at the Commonwealth Games on Sunday. Amusan and the quartet of Rosemary Chukwuma, Favour Ofili and Nzubechi Nwokocha won gold medal in a new African record of 42.10s. The Federal Government has projected that debt servicing will cost N10.43trillion by 2025. According to the 2023-2035 Medium Term Expenditure Framework & Fiscal Strategy Paper, this represents 182.66 per cent increase from the N3.69trillion budgeted for debt service in 2022.

Ex rebel Fighter Sworn-in as Colombia’s President

Colombia has sworn in Gustavo Petro, former rebel fighter, as its first left-wing President. Petro, who took his oath of office in Bogota’s Bolivar Plaza on Sunday, pledged to unite the polarized Country in the fight against inequality, and achieve peace with rebel groups and crime gangs. JAMB Threatens Sanction Over Illegal Admission

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has vowed to sanction Vice-Chancellors, Rectors, Registrars, and other Heads of Tertiary Institutions who continue to engage in illegal admissions. This was contained in a statement published on the website of the Board. The statement added that Candidates who accept any admission not approved on the Central Admissions Processing System would have themselves to blame.
