The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has given reasons for the delay in evacuating stranded Nigerians in the United Arab Emirates. A statement signed by the Ministry’s Spokesperson, Francisca Omayuli explained that the legal processes of evacuation have to be finalized by the relevant Emirati authorities before repatriation. The statement appealed to Nigerians in the UAE to remain law-abiding and avoid actions that would inflict untold hardship on them.

Police Arrest Project Engineer in Lagos

Lagos State Police Command has arrested a Civil Engineer handling a project where a water tank fell and killed two persons and injured one in the State. Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed the arrest on Tuesday. According to Hundeyin, the Engineer is in custody while undergoing investigation is on-going.
