Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, has criticized the Federal Government for permitting non-state actors to bear heavy assault weapons. Akeredolu made this known in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Richard Olatunde. The statement noted that the Federal Government denied the same privilege to the states and federating units with joint security outfits.

Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki has terminated the appointment of the Director of Operations, State Security Network, Emmanuel Oboh.
