FG Approves Bilateral Air Service Agreement with Kuwait

The Federal Government has approved a bilateral air service agreement with the State of Kuwait. Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, disclosed this after the Federal Executive Council meeting presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari in Abuja. Sirika stated that the pact includes reciprocal rights and privileges among which is the opening of air operations between Nigeria and the Gulf country.

Clarke Drops Legal Action Against Bafta

Actor and producer Noel Clarke has dropped his legal action against Bafta. The organization suspended Clarke's membership and an honorary award last year after a newspaper published allegations of sexual misconduct made by 20 women who worked with him. Clarke denied the claims and earlier this year police said he would not face a criminal investigation. Bafta said the allegations represented conduct contrary to expected standards.

New York Ends Compulsory Mask Wearing

New York is ending a 28-month-old Covid mandate requiring masks on public transport. State Governor Kathy Hochul announced that masks will no longer be required in airports and ride-share vehicles, adding that masks are optional. The state introduced the mandate in April 2020 as the virus was spreading throughout New York City. However, masks are still required in nursing homes, hospitals and other health-care facilities licensed by the state.
