The Speaker of Zamfara State House of Assembly, Nasiru Magarya, has commended Governor Bello Matawalle over the monthly unconditional cash transfer to alleviate poverty in the State. Magarya gave the commendation while speaking to newsmen on Sunday. The Speaker noted that the program would take care of the socio-economic challenges among the less privileged and vulnerable ones in the State.

Cross River State Governor, Ben Ayade has called on the Tertiary Education Trust Fund, TETFUND, to extend more educational interventions to higher institutions in the State. Ayade, who was represented by the State commissioner for education, Godwin Akpanke, made this known while inaugurating projects at Federal Government College Obudu. He, however, commended TETFUND for the projects, as well as all the interventions done in the State’s institutions.
Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike, has harped on the need for the implementation of an inclusive development agenda for the state. Wike disclosed this at the inauguration of Community Secondary School Obuama in Degema Local Government Area of the state. United Nations Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres, has appealed for massive global support for Pakistan where floods have killed nearly 1,400 people. Guterres made the appeal today in Pakistani capital, when he was received by the state minister for foreign affairs, Hina Khar. Pakistan’s minister for information and broadcasting, Marriyam Aurangzeb, said the visit will help highlight the problems faced by flood victims and help in sensitizing the world about the consequences of climate change.
