NUC Withdraws Circular that Ordered Universities to Re-open

The National Universities Commission, NUC, has withdrawn its circular which ordered vice-chancellors, pro-chancellors and governing councils to re-open federal universities. According to the Executive Secretary of NUC, the circular stands withdrawn, urging all pro-chancellors and chairmen of governing councils, as well as vice-chancellors of federal universities to take note. It added that further development and information would be communicated to all relevant stakeholders.

Public Relations Officer of the Board, Abdullahi Gambo, revealed this in a statement made available to newsmen on Monday. The statement debunked the report informing military retirees and the public of the commencement of a verification exercise for military retirees.
