MTV has revealed the nomination list for the 2022 MTV European Music Awards. Nigerian trio Burna Boy, Tems, and Ayra Starr were nominated for the Best African Act. The Trio will face face competition from Ghanaian fast-rising Hip Hop star Black Sherif, South African artist Musa Keys, and Tanzanian singer Zuchu. The event is set to take place in Düsseldorf Germany on November 13, 2022.
A bus carrying nearly 50 people displaced by floods in Pakistan has caught fire, killing at least 18 of them. The incident took place on the Karachi-Hyderabad highway near the industrial town of Nooriabad. President Muhammmadu Buhari has called for debt remittances by member of Gulf of Guinea Commission. Buhari made the appeal at a meeting involving member-states of the Gulf of Guinea Commission, GGC, on Thursday. The president claimed that the continued non-payment of their outstanding Annual Assessed Contributions to the Secretariat by the majority has greatly affected the ability of the Commission to fulfill its mandate.
Federal Government has commenced the collection of landing and take-off charges from helicopters operating on all platforms across the country. The Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika made this known to newsmen while inaugurating the implementation committee for Rivers State on Thursday. Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, revealed that ninety-five million voters are expected to determine next president of Nigeria successor in the 2023 poll.
