INEC Declares Mbah Winner of Enugu Governorship Election

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has declared the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Enugu State, Peter Mbah as the winner of the March 18 governorship election. Returning Officer of INEC in the state, Maduebibisi Ofo-Iwe, declared Mbah after he polled a total of 160,895 votes. The governor elect beat his closest rival Chijioke Edeoga of the Labour Party who scored 157,552 amongst others.

NDE Announces Disbursement of N1.4m Loans to Micro Enterprise Enhancement Scheme

The National Directorate of Employment, NDE, has announced the disbursement of N1.4m as loans to 74 beneficiaries in the Micro Enterprise Enhancement Scheme. Director-General of NDE, Abubakar Fikpo said the loan was meant to expand small businesses, which would in turn have a multiplier effect on the nation’s economy. Fikpo, cautioned the beneficiaries that the money was a loan and not a grant and as such must be repaid.
