The White House has proposed giving the government power to seize and sell the assets of Russian oligarchs, and transfer their proceeds to Ukraine. A statement issued by the White House revealed that the legislative proposal will be presented to Congress for consideration. The statement noted that the proposal will establish new authorities for the forfeiture of property linked to Russian kleptocracy, strengthen related law enforcement tools.

A court in military-ruled Myanmar has sentenced Aung Kyi to five years in jail. According to reports, the court found the civilian leader guilty in the 11 corruption cases against her and announced her sentence on Wednesday. Israeli air strikes near Damascus have killed nine soldiers. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, Rami Rahman who disclosed this on Wednesday said eight people were also wounded in the strikes.
