A Sri Lankan court has banned former Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa, and 15 allies from leaving the country. The magistrate ordered police to investigate mob attacks on peaceful protesters, which led to retaliations. Rajapaksa resigned and had to be evacuated from his home by heavily armed troops. The former leader is currently holed up at a naval facility in the east of the island nation, protected by the armed forces.

North Korea has ordered a strict national lockdown after confirming its first official Covid infections. Former Honduran President, Juan Hernandez has pleaded not guilty to drug charges in the United States. Hernandez who appeared in US Federal Court on Tuesday maintained that he is innocent. The Ex- President was extradited to the US last month and was charged with violent drug-trafficking conspiracy.

The United State House of Representatives has approved a fresh $40billion aid package for Ukraine. The Legislators passed the Ukraine bill by 368 to 57 votes on Tuesday. According to the Democratic Representative, Rosa DeLauro, who chairs the House Appropriations Committee, disclosed that the bill will protect democracy, limit Russian aggression, and strengthen national security.

Rebels have killed at least 14 people, including children, in an overnight attack on a displaced persons camp in Eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo.
