The game was the team’s first international friendly as they intensify preparation for the WAFU B U-20 tournament. The flying Eagles would play another build-up game on Monday before the commencement of the competition.

Emma Raducanu beat Tereza Martincova for the second time to make it to the second round of the Madrid Open. Martincova, had led US Open champion Raducanu 5-2 in the first set. But the British number one took the tie-breaker and won 11 of the next 12 games to seal a 7-6 (7-3) 6-0 success.

World number one Iga Swiatek has withdrawn from the Madrid Open with a shoulder injury. On Saturday, Swiatek won her fourth consecutive title at the Stuttgart Open. World boxing council heavyweight champion Tyson Fury has confirmed he is done with boxing. Fury had hinted at retiring after the sixth-round knockout of Dillian Whyte in front of 94,000 fans at Wembley on Saturday. He said he decided to leave boxing to spend more time with his family.
