Argentina beat Italy in a renewal of the contest between the champions of Europe and South America. Italian defender Giorgio Chiellini played the first half of what was his 118th and final international match. The contest is the first between the two continental champions in 29 years.

The English Premier League and UEFA Champions League have reacted as Paul Pogba leaves Manchester United. Pogba’s contract with Man United will expire at the end of this month. Man United had earlier confirmed that Pogba would leave the club this month when his contract expires. Meanwhile, Pogba has been linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester City and Juventus in the past few days.

The Super Eagles will battle with Sao Tome and Principe after the Confederation of African Football, CAF, kicked out Mauritius from the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifying Series. Soa Tome and Principe joins Nigeria, Sierra Leone and Guinea-Bissau in Group A after CAF upheld their appeal against Mauritius’s protest that they fielded an illegible player in a qualifying clash between the two countries.

Tottenham Hotspur has signed Croatian Star, Ivan Perisic, from Inter Milan. Tottenham disclosed this in their Club’s website on Tuesday. The Croatia international will join the Club on July 1 following the expiration of his contract at Internazionale and has agreed to a deal that will run until 2024.
