Mattia De Sciglio has signed an extension to his Juventus contract which will keep him at the club until 2025. De Sciglio played 29 times for Juve in all competitions last season after returning from a loan at Lyon. The full-back has been at the Turin giants since 2017, winning three league titles and an Italian Cup.

Britain's Katie Boulter beats Caroline Garcia to reach the Birmingham Classic Quarter-Finals. Boulter triumphed 7-6 (7-5) 6-1 over French former world number four Garcia. She will face former world number one SimonaHalep for a place in the semi-finals after the Romanian beat Britain's Harriet Dart 6-3 6-2.

Nick Kyrgios beat  Stefanos Tsitsipas at the Halle Open. Kyrgios, ranked 65th, came back to beat Greek Tsitsipas 5-7 6-2 6-4. He smashed his racquet after losing the opening set in Germany.

Liverpool forward, Sadio Mane, has received a three-year contract from Bayern Munich ahead of a proposed move from the Reds. This was disclosed in a tweet by football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano on Wednesday. According to Romano, Mane reached the deal with Bayern Munich after agreeing to personal terms with the Bundesliga Champions.

Brighton Boss, Graham Potter has stepped up his interest in FC Porto defender, Sanusi Zaidu. Potter sees Zaidu as a replacement for Marc Cucurella, who is on the verge of joining Manchester City. The Super Eagles defender is under contract at Porto until 2025 but is valued at £20m by the Portuguese champions.

Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets are through to semi-final of the WAFU B U-17 Championship after a 3-1 win against Togo in their second Group A game on Tuesday night. Kevwe Iyede and Precious Williams scored for the Golden Eaglets. Nduka Ugbade’s side top Group A with six points from two matches.

Burnley has appointed former Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany as manager. Kompany was in charge at Anderlecht for two years before leaving by mutual consent in May. The new manager spent 11 years at City, where he won 10 major trophies, including four Premier League titles.

Blackburn Rovers have appointed Jon Tomasson as manager on a three-year deal. Tomasson succeeds Tony Mowbray, who left the Championship club after five years when his contract expired in May. The ex-Denmark forward joins Rovers having won two consecutive league titles with Swedish club Malmo FF.
