Canada's men's team secured victory over Curacao in their first match since going on strike. The strike forced a friendly with Panama on Sunday to be called off. However, they returned to action with a 4-0 win in Vancouver in the Concacaf Nations League.

Spain beats Switzerland for their first win of the Nations League. Sarabia scored a goal which was allowed to stand after a video assistant referee review for offside. Spain is on five points from three games in Group A2.

Liverpool's Mohamed Salah and Chelsea's Sam Kerr have won the Men's and Women's PFA players' player of the year Awards. Salah and Kerr won the Golden Boot in 2021-22 as top scorers in the Premier League and Women's Super League respectively. He becomes the sixth Male Player to win two PFA player of the year awards, after Mark Hughes, Alan Shearer, Thierry Henry, Gareth Bale and Kevin de Bruyne.

Arsenal forward Alexandre Lacazette has re-signed for Lyon on a free transfer. Lacazette returned to the French club on a three-year deal until June 2025. He scored 54 times in 158 Premier League appearances for Arsenal and helped the Gunners win the 2020 FA Cup final.

British top seed Dan Evans beat Italian Thomas Fabbiano to reach the third round of the Nottingham Open. Evans won 7-5 6-0 and will face Swiss eighth seed Marc-Andrea Huesler next. Fellow Briton Ryan Peniston also progressed in the men's draw, beating Croat Borna Gojo 6-4 7-6 (7-4).

Luka Modric has agreed a one-year contract extension with Real Madrid. The new deal keeps Modric at the Santiago Bernabeu until June 2023. He joined from Tottenham in 2012 and has since made 436 appearances for Real. The midfielder has won three La Liga titles and five Champions League trophies with club.

Victor Osimhen will lead the Super Eagles attack in their 2023 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifier against the Leone Stars of Sierra Leone on Thursday. The encounter is billed for the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja. Osimhen has been the team’s leading marksman since Odion Ighalo retired from international football after the 2019 AFCON finals in Egypt.

Bayern Munich has ruled out a summer move for Nigerian Striker, Victor Osimhen. The German champions are in search of a new No.9 to replace Robert Lewandowski, who is on his way out this summer.

Emma Raducanu was forced to retire from her Nottingham Open opener against Viktorija Golubic. Raducanu took a medical timeout early in the first set because of a problem to her left side. She conceded the match shortly after Golubic moved 4-3 up with a break of serve. It is the US Open champion's third mid-match retirement since her 2021 win.
