South-East PDP demands Atiku’s Vice Presidential slot

The People’s Democratic Party in the South-East has called on its Presidential Candidate, Atiku Abubakar and the leadership of the Party to ensure that the PDP standard-bearer picks his running mate from the Zone. Publicity Secretary of Anambra State PDP, Nnamdi Nwagwu, in an interview confirmed that the South-East demanded the Vice-Presidential slot. Nwagwu noted that only the VP slot could secure votes for the Party in the South-East.

INEC Sets Deadline For Submission Of Candidates List

Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has announced June 17 as the deadline for submitting lists of Presidential Candidates and their running mates. INEC Chairman, Mahmood Yakubu, gave the directive during a meeting with Resident Electoral Commissioners in Abuja. According to Yakubu, the Commission fixed July 15 as the deadline for submitting lists of Governorship and House of Assembly Candidates.

Umahi Emerges APC Senatorial Candidate

Ebonyi State Governor, David Umahi has won the All Progressives Congress, APC, Senatorial Primary election for Ebonyi South. Umahi’sbrother, Austin Umahi, was declared the winner of the Senatorial primary election for Ebonyi South, but the APC cancelled the earlier Primary election and rescheduled it for Thursday night. The Governor clinched the ticket in the rescheduled Primary election, held at the Afikpo North Local Government Council.

Woke’s reappointment was announced in a statement issued by the Special Assistant to the Governor on Media and Publicity, Kelvin Ebiri.
