Anambra State Governor, Chukwuma Soludo, has denied reports that religious killings targeted at northerners have been happening silently in the State. Speaking through his Press Secretary, Christian Aburime stated that the report is false and misleading. He warned the publishers of such reports against inciting violence in the Country. The Governor, however, assured both indigenes and non-indigenes of their protection and safety in the State.
Taraba State Governor, Darius Ishaku, has emerged as the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, for Taraba South Senatorial District. Ishaku promised to change the narrative at the Red Chamber when elected. The Governor, however, commended the peaceful conduct of the Party’s Primary elections across the State.
Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello has approved the appointment of 10 new Permanent Secretaries. This was disclosed in a statement issued by the State Head of Service, Hannah Odiyoon. According to the statement, the newly appointed Permanent Secretaries will replace those who recently retired from the Civil Service of the State. It enjoined the appointees to be dedicated in the performance of their new duties.
Anambra State government has said funding for the N170 billion 2022 revised budget is not a challenge for governor, Chukwuma Soludo. The State Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Chiamaka Nnake, disclosed this during a press conference at the government house. Anambra State Command of Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC says two persons were burnt to death in a tanker explosion that occurred along the Umunya Road on the Enugu-Onitsha Expressway. Confirming the incident, the State Sector Commander of FRSC, Adeoye Irelewuyi, warned motorists to avoid over speeding and ensure they keep to the recommended speed limit. Irelewuyi, however, commiserated with the families of the victims and prayed for the deceased.
Ekiti State University, EKSU, has announced the resumption of academic activities. A statement issued by the Director of Information and Corporate Affairs, Bode Olofinmuagun, disclosed that academic activities resumes today. The statement noted that the Management was concerned about the pains experienced by Students and Parents. It added that the School Management decided to reopen in the interest of Students, Parents, Guardians, Society and its survival.
Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has dissolved the State Executive Council. A statement issued by his Special Assistant on Media, Kelvin Ebirim, disclosed that the dissolution takes effect from today, Tuesday, May 24. The statement commended the members of State Executive Council for their service and contribution to the development of the State. It directed them to hand over to the most Senior Officers in their respective Offices.
Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, has been declared winner of the Senatorial seat of Benue North West Senatorial Zone. A statement issued on Monday by his media aide expressed appreciation to the people of the zone for always standing with him. The Governor emerged as an unopposed candidate.
