Multi-award-winning Beninese music legend Angelique Kidjo has become only the third African to win the prestigious Polar Music prize. KIdjo was announced as the 2023 winner alongside Chris Blackwell from the United Kingdom and ArvoPärt from Estonia. The Polar Music Prize which is also tagged the Nobel Prize of Music is a Swedish international award founded in 1989, and is annually given to one contemporary musician and one classical musician.
Pop star Stromae has cancelled a string of tour dates across Europe, over his health challenges. In a statement, the Belgian singer said he was cancelling all shows until the end of May. He was due to perform in nine cities across Europe. The 38-year-old has already cancelled six concert dates in the past two weeks and has not given a specific medical reason for his poor health

Reports say a man has been arrested on suspicion of blackmailing TV presenter Alison Hammond. West Midlands police said the 36-year-old was arrested at an address in Warwickshire. It is alleged that the Birmingham-born celebrity had been threatened that lies would be spread about her if she did not co-operate with demands.
