Academy of Motion Picture Arts Establishes Crisis Team

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has established a crisis team after last year's incident in which Will Smith slapped Chris Rock. Chief Executive of the Academy, Bill Kramer revealed the award ceremony will be prepared for anything. Kramer said the institution has implemented the organization of a group focused on handling emergency situations at the annual event.

Hussle’s Killer Sentenced to 60 years in Prison

The man convicted of killing rapper Nipsey Hussle, Eric Holder, has been sentenced to at least 60 years in prison. Superior Court Judge Clay Jacke announced Holder's 60 years to life sentence after hearing from one of Hussle's friends as well as reading a letter from Holder's father. The man was found guilty of first-degree murder last July for killing Hussle, outside his South Los Angeles clothing store in 2019.

GDP Growth Reduced to 3.10 percent in 2022

Reports say severe incidences of flooding in 2022 slowed Nigeria’s Gross Domestic Product growth to 3.10 per cent in 2022 from 3.40 per cent in 2021. ECOWAS Urges FG TO Address naira and Fuel Scarcity

The Economic Community of West Africa, ECOWAS, Observer Mission to Nigeria has implored the Federal Government to address the fuel and cash scarcity in the country. The mission, led by former President of Sierra Leone, Ernest Koroma, made the appeal during his visit to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, in Abuja. Koroma stressed that the insecurity crisis in the country should be resolved before the February 25 election.
