Afrobeats megastar Burna Boy has been nominated for the 2023 Grammy Awards. His 6th album 'Love, Damini' shortlisted for the World Album prize. He was also nominated for the Global Song of the Year for 'Last Last' making it his second nomination. The nomination is Burna Boy's 3rd Grammy nomination for the World Album Category following 'African Giant' and 'Twice As Tall' nominated in 2020 and 2021 respectively.

Reports say a member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Abdulsobur Olawale is dead. According to reports, Olawale, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, slumped and died at the Rawang Pam Township Stadium in Jos. The deceased, who represented the Mushin II state constituency, was the Chairman of the House Committee on Local Government Services.
Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike has accused the National Assembly of allocating paltry sums for execution of capital projects. Wike, who was speaking during the commissioning of the Faculty of Clinical Sciences at the State University said the action of the lawmakers leads to a constant variation of the cost of capital projects. He noted that this results to abandonment of projects by various administrations.

Ekiti State House of Assembly has elected Gboyega Aribisogan, as the new speaker of the assembly. Aribisogun who is a Representative of Ikole Constituency was elected at plenary on Tuesday.
