Somalia's President, Hassan Mohamud has appointed a new Prime Minister, Hamza Barre. President Mohamud said he had been considering the selection of a new Prime Minister for some time, and saw Barre as a Potential Candidate. Speaking after his appointment, Barre promised to form a government worthy of rescuing the Country. The new Prime Minister is expected to form a government once he is approved by Parliament.

Spokesman of the Forum,Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, said the ordinary Nigerians are no longer interested in the religious background of their leaders. Ekiti State Governorship Candidates has signed a Peace Accord ahead of the poll billed for Saturday. The Candidates signed the Peace Accord at an event held in Ado-Ekiti under the auspices of the National Peace Committee led by former Head of State, Abdulsalami Abubakar who was represented by the Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, Matthew Kukah. Buddhist Priest, Ruth Ozeki has won this year's Women's Prize for Fiction. The judges described her novel The Book of Form and Emptiness as a celebration of the power of books. Ozeki was announced as the winner of the £30,000 prize at a ceremony in London, beating nominees including Elif Shafak, Meg Mason and Louise Erdrich.
