NMA Threatens to Shut Down Hospitals in Rivers

Rivers State Branch of the Nigerian Medical Association, NMA, has threatened to shut down hospitals in the State following the incessant abduction of its members.

NMA Secretary in the State, Hope Avundaa, stated this while reacting to the kidnap of a doctor, Steven Bagshaw.

Bagshaw, who is a senior registrar with the State Government, was reportedly kidnapped at the entrance of his residence in Rumuokoro axis of Obio-Akpor Local Government Area of the state.

Cases of kidnapping had surged in the state in the last one month, leading to the Yuletide season.
