UN Humanitarian Coordinator in Nigeria, Matthias Schmale, made this known when he led a delegation on a courtesy visit to the state Governor Douye Diri, in Yenagoa, the state capital.

Seven of the eight local government areas of the state have been affected by the flood that has forced many residents into IDP camps.
